Question 10

Are synthetic slings (webbing/round slings) inspected differently?

Yes, synthetic slings such as webbing slings and round slings are inspected differently because they are made from flexible fabric materials and are more susceptible to cuts, abrasion, and environmental damage.

In the Indian context, these slings are commonly used for lifting delicate or finished materials where surface protection is important. During inspection, Uniquo carefully checks for cuts, tears, fraying, broken stitching, and excessive wear on the sling surface. We also look for chemical damage, heat exposure, burns, or discoloration, which may weaken the sling material.

For round slings, we also check for lumps, internal damage, or uneven thickness, which may indicate core fiber failure. In addition, identification tags and Safe Working Load (SWL) labels are verified to ensure they are present and legible, as missing tags make it difficult to confirm lifting capacity.

At Uniquo, our inspection of synthetic slings focuses on material integrity and safe load capacity to ensure safe and compliant lifting operations across Indian construction and industrial environments.
