What is a chain sling inspection?
In the Indian context, chain slings are commonly used in construction, industrial plants, fabrication yards, and maintenance activities for lifting heavy and rugged loads. Due to frequent use and exposure to harsh conditions, these slings can experience wear, stretching, or damage over time.
During inspection, Uniquo checks for elongation of chain links, cracks, deformation, corrosion, excessive wear, and damaged or bent links. We also inspect master links, connecting links, hooks, and safety latches to ensure they are functioning properly and are free from defects. Verification of Safe Working Load (SWL) markings, identification tags, and certification status is also carried out.
If any component shows signs of damage beyond acceptable limits, the chain sling is recommended for repair or removal from service to prevent lifting failures.
At Uniquo, our chain sling inspections help ensure safe lifting operations, reduce accident risks, and maintain compliance with commonly followed safety practices across Indian construction and industrial sites.
