Question 04

Who is qualified to inspect scaffolding?

Scaffolding should be inspected by a competent person who has the knowledge, training, and practical experience needed to identify scaffold hazards and judge whether the structure is safe for use.

In the Indian context, this is typically a safety officer, site engineer, or designated scaffold inspector who has been trained in scaffold safety practices and is familiar with relevant standards such as IS 3696 and applicable workplace safety regulations under the Factories Act and construction safety guidelines.

The inspector must be capable of identifying structural defects, unsafe assembly, load-related risks, and compliance gaps before the scaffold is used. They should also have practical experience in construction or industrial site safety to ensure accurate assessment.

At Uniquo, our scaffold inspections are carried out by qualified and experienced professionals who understand Indian site conditions and ensure that every scaffold is thoroughly checked for safe use before and during operation.
