When is NDT required?
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is required whenever the integrity, safety, and reliability of equipment, structures, or components need to be evaluated without interrupting operations or causing damage. In India, NDT is commonly required to comply with statutory safety regulations and industry standards.
NDT is typically required in the following situations:
- Before commissioning of new equipment or structures
- During periodic statutory inspections as per safety regulations
- After repairs, modifications, or alterations
- When equipment shows signs of wear, corrosion, or damage
- During preventive maintenance programs
- Before extending the service life of old equipment
- Following accidents, failures, or abnormal operating conditions
Industries such as manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, power plants, infrastructure, and heavy engineering commonly use NDT to ensure safe operations and regulatory compliance.
Uniquo performs NDT in line with applicable provisions under the Factories Act, 1948, guidelines from the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, and standards issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
By conducting NDT at the right time, organizations can prevent failures, reduce downtime, improve safety, and ensure regulatory compliance.
