When is a pullout test required?
A Pullout Test is required when there is a need to verify the strength and reliability of anchors, fasteners, or embedded fixing systems installed in concrete or masonry structures.
In the Indian construction and infrastructure industry, pullout tests are typically required during or after installation of anchor bolts, chemical anchors, rebar dowels, façade supports, machine foundations, and structural connections. These tests help confirm that the installed fixing can safely withstand the designed loads.
Pullout testing is commonly specified in projects such as high-rise buildings, metro rail systems, bridges,
industrial plants, power projects, and heavy equipment foundations. It is often mandated by project
consultants, structural designers, or quality control requirements based on IS codes, international
standards, or client specifications.
The test is especially important in cases where anchoring quality cannot be fully verified visually and load
performance needs to be confirmed on-site.
At Uniquo, we conduct pullout tests at various stages of construction to ensure installation quality, structural safety, and compliance with project requirements across India.
