How do I qualify a welder through Uniquo?
Welder qualification through Uniquo is carried out in accordance with applicable Indian and international standards to ensure the welder’s skill meets required job and code specifications.
The process typically begins with understanding the project requirements, including the welding process, material type, thickness, position, and applicable standard (such as IS codes, ASME Section IX, or AWS standards). Based on this, a Welder Qualification Test (WQT) is scheduled.
During the test, the welder prepares a test coupon under supervised conditions using the specified Welding Procedure Specification (WPS). The welded sample is then subjected to inspection and testing, which may include visual inspection, radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), and mechanical tests such as bend or tensile tests, depending on requirements.
If the welder successfully meets all acceptance criteria, a Welder Qualification Certificate is issued, confirming their competency for the specified welding process and application.
At Uniquo, we ensure welder qualifications are conducted in line with industry standards and project requirements, helping clients across India maintain high-quality fabrication and compliance standards.
